A beautifully decorated cake doesn’t have to be difficult—all it takes is an excellent teacher and plenty of practice, of which you will get both. Chef Jasmin will start the class by demonstrating how to make buttercream frosting from scratch. Students will then learn how to split pre-made cakes into layers, fill icing bags, assemble a layer cake, create a crumb coat, and decorate the cake. There will be plenty of time to practice various piping techniques, including borders, flowers, and handwriting. You will gain confidence as a cake artist in this special workshop.
• Different Types of Frostings
• Splitting Cake Layers
• How to Torte Cakes with Assorted Fillings
• Various Piping Techniques (Flowers, Scrollwork, and Color Variation)
• Writing on Cakes
Please note: students will not be baking cakes in this class
